Today I thought I’d talk about where the blog is going and the kind of content you’re going to see. I’ve been spending most of my time lately tinkering with the website and trying to set up and link my social media. I’m not on it much but that’s going to change.
Building an online presence is definitely at the bottom of the list of things I actually want to do. I know how important it is though. Up til now, I’ve never been big on social media. I’m still not, but most of my long-term goals would benefit from a strong online presence.
Being a self-taught programmer I know how important establishing a presence online can be. I’ve heard it podcasts. Read about it in countless articles. And yet, I still find myself ignoring it most of the time. I check instagram for cool art, and usually try to avoid facebook considering it’s all memes. Slowly but surely though, I’m taking the first steps toward building a better online presence.
This blog is pretty much my first real step in trying to get myself out there. Yeah, I’ve posted little things here and there but never anything that shows what I’m really capable of. And not really anything to be significantly proud of. I think just needed a better place to show people. Which is exactly the purpose of Jonny’s Quest.
The main focus of this blog is going to be programming. Game programming mostly, but I do like making other software. There’s probably going to be a strong sub focus on art. More specifically, character design. I constantly have a stream of character ideas running through my head. And lately, I’ve been learning a lot more about drawing so I can make good looking characters and other assets.
The future of Jonny’s Quest holds a lot of things and I’m excited to share them with you. Thanks for reading!
