Something I know I need to work on is creating balance between all the things going on in my life. More specifically, making a schedule and sticking with it. There are a lot of things I want to work on and the list gets bigger every day.
I love to research. And more often than not, I find myself spending too much time in the research phase. From playing games, to choosing a framework, I obsess over optimization so I can have the best experience. And that’s not always the best mentality to have. Spending less time researching and more time doing is a logical first step in creating balance in my life.
Second would probably be actually making a schedule. I always have a general idea of what I’m going to do every day but I find myself getting distracted a lot. There are a lot of different things I want to do and even more things I need to learn which is part of the reason it’s taken this long to make a set schedule.
I love to learn and thats part of the reason I love to code. There’s something new I could and should learn every day and it keep things exciting. It also keeps me busy and keeps my to-do list growing. Which can be a good thing and a bad thing. Luckily, for the time being, theres a quarantine and I have a lot more time to figure things out.
Game Development is just one of many on my list of things to do. Creating content, drawing, learning. Promoting & marketing the blog, researching, becoming a better writer. Not to mention giving my amazing girlfriend the time and attention I know she deserves more of. Without her support and patience, none of this would even be happening.
I have no doubts that creating a schedule will increase my productivity and motivation. And hopefully do a good job in in creating balance between all the things I love.
